Fridget is a grocery management and meal plan app that helps users to keep track of their food stock and schedule for a healthy lifestyle.

The Problem
While I found myself always forgetting how many groceries I got and wasting many of them, Americans discard more food than any other country, nearly 40 million tons — or 30-40 percent of the entire US food supply. More than 80% of Americans discard perfectly good food because they misunderstand expiration labels.
User Research and Planning
Qualitative research methods like user interviews let me dive deep into ‘what’ the users are actually thinking and also their current process of grocery management. Five non-direct interviews were completed in which a casual conversation was had with the target demographic.
To summarize here are the 4 major pain points the users’ experience:
It’s difficult to keep track of how many items are in their refrigerators and what are their expiration dates of them.
Sometimes people forgot what items they have bought.
It is impossible to connect the grocery stock with a meal plan except for handwriting.
Recording all the items bought from grocery shopping is time-consuming.
Mockup Design and Usability Test
Before diving into digital wireframing, the first step I did was creating hand-drawn sketches. I then prototyped our Lo-Fi wireframes using Figma and did usability tests with my users. During the usability test, I get to observe users’ frustrations and discover which area of design works and which needs improvements.
High-Fidelity Prototype
After running the usability test and deciding on the Visual design, I wrapped up in converting the wireframes into prototypes.
